Community Clean Up

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who participated in one of many recent community clean up and Earth Day activities.  Your dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work have made a significant impact on our neighbourhood and our planet...inspiring us all.

90th Anniversary Celebration

Many thanks extended to the York Memorial Presbyterian Church for inviting me to join in the celebration of your 90th anniversary.  It was truly an honor to be part of such a special occasion.  I look forward to our continuing connection and building upon the bonds of friendship that we forged during this memorable celebration.

Prayer Walk

In light of the recent tragedy that has touched us all, it is more important than ever for us to come together as a community. Our hearts are heavy with grief, but we are not without hope. I am grateful for the prayer walk that brought us together April 11 to heal and to pray for peace. Members of the Toronto Police Service, faith leaders of the Canadian Black Clergies & Allies, and community members united in solidarity, offering our thoughts, prayers, and support to all those affected by this senseless violence.

Kodak Tour

Metrolinx kindly invited me on a tour of the former Kodak building, which is currently undergoing construction.  It was truly awe-inspiring to witness firsthand the space that will soon be available in part to our community.  Metrolinx will ensure that everything is in place for its successful completion.  Following this, a Community Meeting will be organized to provide an exciting opportunity for the public to envision how this space can best serve the communities of Ward 5.

Community Meet & Greet

My heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome I received during our Meet and Greet last Friday.  Our discussions were both enlightening and inspiring and one message stood out above all: having access to a bus for shopping and other essentials activities is a priority for many of you.  My office will be working diligently to explore options and advocate for improved transportations services for the residents of Central King Seniors Residence.
